I am writing this to protest the apparant unwarranted harrassment by the Sportsfisher "Dolphin" of kayakers at the LaJolla Kelp. We are fellow fishermen that enjoy kayaking as well as occasional trips on your boats.
Apparently the incident recently at LaJolla was not the first time that the Dolphin has resorted to this sort of conduct. Two of our fellow kayakers were threatened ,, resulting in one capsize and the other a near miss.
There is not need for this sort of conduct by your Sportsfishers. Your logo on the Website says "we like people",, please have the crew of the Dolphin behave in a manner to represent your motto.
Many of the kayakers at LaJolla are equiped with cameras. I'm sure if the incidents continue,, someone will catch one of your boats in the act.

It would make a lot more sense if your boats would stop the harrassment ,,please help us with this request

: : : I hope this get posted on all of the yak msg boards. We should all e mail the landing and warn them if any epuipment is lost or if someone gets hurt, there will be law suits. Did anyone contact the Coast Guard? If not, I think they should. I just sent an e-mail to Islandia. I wrote:The kayak message boards are full of allegations that the Dolphin makes a practice of coming far too close to kayakers who are peacefully fishing. You must do something to stop this practice.
