: I’m planning on going to Dana Pt with HAMMERHEAD for the T Shark bite this Saturday, and I wanted to know if my Calcutta 400 held enough line (200-250 yrds) or if I was going to have to fish with my old Penn jig master?

: John

I would stick with the Jigmaster for T sharks, the 400 will work but will get worked in the fight. I used a Penn 975cs with 30lb to subdue my last beast, it was a bit beefier than the 400s I used on the smaller ones earlier in the season. I think the extreme pressure and drag melting runs are tough on the light stuff and do some more than average wear and tear on a real. I have replaced handles and sent my reels in for comlete overhauls after a day of Thresher fishing. Good luck this weekend, TL Rhino
