: If you are going to take two adults, you will need the extra capacity of a Pro2 Tandem. The Malibu II is maxed at 450 lb, which does not leave much room for gear and two adult men. I like to have some cushion between the max limit and the actual load. The lack of large useable hatches on the Malibu II is another big drawback.If you are going to be doing all the paddling, you might look at the OK Cabo. Your dad will have to manage the gear through the front hatch, but the touring hull might make the paddle easier. The Pro 2 and the Cabo are my two favorite tandems.-Ted
Did you negate the Aegean because it does not have hatches or for other reasons? Just wondering.
