I've fished there thrice. I has hoping to run into some WSB that spear fisherman have been known to target, but no luck. I did hit a nice one half way there from Redondo though. I also ran into a wide open calico bite on another occasion. There are plenty of kelp beds along the cliffs.

I have launched out of cabrillo and made the paddle, and I've also launched from Redondo and made the paddle. People have launched directly from malaga cove but I hear the trek back up is a biotch. I rather paddle long and be able to fish the whole way.

There's bait in the water just like everywhere else when they're around, I've caught chovies, sardines, and green macs.

: Just out of curiosity, how is the fishing down there? Where do you guys launch, make bait, and what's mostly caught in that area? Any threshers? THanks guysgabe
