I was trying to size up a wetsuit, or these Hydroskin products. I'll be using it in North Georgia, where it is not quite as mild as it is in SD, but the water in the river stays a consistent 55-65 degrees year round. In the summer, wet wading is my norm, and treading water is not an issue (you can stand up most places and walk to the kayak or out of the river if need be). Any comments on the Hydroskin (seems very thin, but comfortable) versus a 3mm wetsuit with nylon in/outer liner would be appreciated. I was thinking about a farmer john, or maybe even pants, plus a long sleeve jacket for flexibility and mobility.

Thanks,
Dan

: : Anyone use NRS HyroSkin John Wet Suit in the Los Angeles area? If so, what season is it good for and what season is it NOT good for? Any information will be appreciated. I purchased one recently and put it to the test on the recent mothership trip from hell in Santa Barbara. The most comfortable wetsuit I have ever worn, very flexible and remarkably warm given that it is only 1.5mm. However, Jason's sentiments are right on: I wouldn't want to be treading water in it until the temp gets above 60 or so. It is essential to purchase some type of paddle jacket to go with it. I got the Runoff jacket and love it. Very light weight, very flexible in the arms and very warm, perfect for the mild S.B./L.A. conditions.Shel
