How was the surf launch? I have camped there and did well surf fishing for surf perch. I caught some of the biggest ones I have ever seen there. But man the water is cold, Central California cold, BBBBbbbrrrrr. Also I remmber that the surf break was very wide, definitely not a La Jolla launch. By the way, I was riding my 3 wheeler done the beach and saw a inflatable Zodiac boat come ashore. They had caught one of the nicest bright silver colored salmon I have ever seen. I am not sure what kind of salmon it was, but it was beautiful.
