: While looking up different things in the search function I ran across bounce balling, mainly for halibut. It seems like its not to favorable for most anglers as they complained a lot about getting tangled and keeping the kayak moving. What is bounce balling and the technique behind it? THanks for your helpptight linesgabe
I use a pretty simple rig .25lb main line to a 3 way swivel,12oz. torpedo sinker to about an 14 - 18 in. leader, about 30 in leader to a anchovie look alike surface plug. thats it no flasher. To get started paddle forward while letting line out slowley. When your rod tip starts bouncing you are on the bottom.Try to keep the rod top bouncing if its not the lure is not running right or it is fouled. A fish on is easy to spot as the rod really loads up fast. Another thing is bend in the front hooks and replace all hooks with strong ones. It takes a couple of trys to get the habng of it but it really works. Jack
