My wife and I were going to buy a canoe, so that way I could fish and my wife could relax and enjoy the sights in an economical kind of way. However, I have been exposed to the world of yak fishing and I am very intrigued.
I was wondering what the consensus was for the style of yak that would best suit our purposes. We want a tandem for use almost exclusively in fresh water - lakes and slow rivers. I of course am interested in a real light fishing set-up, with paddle clips and a rod holder. My wife wants something comfortable where she can sit back and read and enjoy watching me restle the fish in.
I have really liked the Wilderness Systems boats with the phase III seating. I have seen the Pamlico (Excel) with the open cockpit and very much like this boat. However, I have seen the tandem Equator sit-on-top on their web site. I know you guys seem to exclusively use the sit-on-tops for the ocean fishing. However, I would like to hear your thoughts and recomendations for my slightly different intended purposes. Thanks for any help that you could provide us
