Bangsticks are illegal in the state of California besides I agree with Jas on this issue they are more dangerous to us that to the sharks. I have been harrassed more by large sea lions than sharks. I have been an avid scuba diver since the mid 80's and have locally (South County) been in the water when a large feeding frenzy has occurred and most if not all of the sharks involved (on two separate instances have involved threshers)did not even pay attention to us. Most sharks would rather go for a prey that they are accustomed to and that they know will not do harm to them and they can tell that humans are not something they can easily take down.
