I don't think they are found north of Santa Barbara, but I'm sure you'll have plenty luck with crabs when the Dungeness season opens. At least thats what I'm waiting for.
I've heard tales that the bugs will SOMETIMES go as far north as Shell beach, but anything farther north than that is usually too cold for them.
