I caught a limit of 2 ½ lb cats a month ago at San Vicente Reservoir. I was volunteering with the weigh in-group at a night bass fishing tournament. We turned the 60 bass fishermen loose for 6 hours of night fishing before they would have to be back at the boat dock for the weigh in. In the interim I fished the shore for cats and the catching was steady. I used 15lb Stren line but I don’t think that it really mattered that much and especially at night. The biggest bass weighed in that night was over 9 lbs and the largest three fish limit weighed over 19lbs.
