: I have owned both. I like each for its various reasons. I have not yet tried the new DRY ride Drifter, but if its like its previous model it is a quick and capable (open water) kayak. The OK Drifter will have all the extras without any additional costs (i.e. straps, hatch, handles on bow and stern, carry side handles and eyelets). If cost was an issue I would go for the Drifter. I truly like my Extreme she's fast and stabile although it has already had a recall on it regarding the front hatch which was taking on water but was corrected by the shop. The Extreme is very large kayak kinda tough to handle by ones self. The Drifter was much easier to handle. In the future I truly would like to try out the new dryride Drifter. Overall, I feel that I would get out more in a Drifter if it weren't so hard to stow my Extreme on the racks of an SUV. Overall, if the previously wet seat on the Drifter is now properly corrected like it has been stated (Dry Ride) it would be hard to beat - cost and quality. I know that this is a Malibu kayak friendly site so please don't blast me. Just trying to answer the guys questions. Hopefully I made a little sense.TL,fishinHB
Ron,
This is an open forum. You are 100% entitled to posting your experience regarding any kayak. The board is here for kayak anglers first and foremost. We want posts to be balanced and as objective as possible. I wouldn't mind trying out the new Drifter myself. Glad to see companies working on improving their products.
