1. I float an Ocean Kayak, Malibu II by myself and I have nothing else to compare the ride too. how does it compare to what you paddle?
2. A naked boat is "neat" sometimes "less is more" when I go with paddle, two rods a fanny pack of tackle stringer and gaff I fish faster, my baits are in the water more and things are easier to keep organized. I do have the milk cartons and attatched rod holders and fish finder but things get heavy and it seems like a-lot of clutter. You big fish blasters really need all that baggage?
3. My live bait tank? I have four scuppers on my malibu II and a fat spanish mackeral stuck nose first into the scupper has plenty of fresh areated water giving the baits what the need to keep them alive for three hours at which point I used them up. They are easily pulled out of the hole by their tail and they dont get a "bloody nose" from circleing the tank and bumping into the walls. The baits are in good shape when I use them. The restraint of the scuppers narrow diameter keep them pretty and they aren't going to swim backwards out of the hole.
Do any of you gatos (cats) have any stories or advice on using scuppers as rod holders?
Any stories with getting bit while holding a rod in your lap or rod butt under one thigh rod handle over the top of the other leg?
