Seabass,
When I first got my fishfinder last year I used epoxy to mount the transducer inside of my hull. It worked... for a grand total of 2 days before it started comming undone. The problem was that the hull of the kayak flexes and the epoxy doesn't. I read the boards and the info I got
was to use Marine Goop. I went to Home Depot and got a tube. I lightly sanded the area of the hull and very lightly roughed up the surface of the transducer with 400 grit sandpaper. Then I cleaned everything with rubbing alcahol. I squeezed out enough goop on the area and made sure there were no air bubbles and pressed the transducer down into the Goop.
I made sure to twist it some back and forth to get any air bubbles out. Then I set some heavy stuff on it to hold it down and let it sit for 24 hours.
The key things are to have your heavy stuff ready before you start. You don't want to start looking for things while your transducer is just sitting there in the goop, also air bubbles are your enemy. You don't want them.
It has been over a year now and I haven't had any problems. I should have used Marine Goop in the first place. Hope this helps.
Robert
