I recently purchased a Piranha Max 20 and I am now starting to chicken out of installing it in my kayak.
Two things have me worried- First is the price, I usually try to avoid the cheaper models of anything, but I do trust the humminbird name. And #2 is the lack of reviews I see for the product. I purchased this model because the smaller base allowed me to fit it in the best location on my Yak, without having a secondary mounting system (such as Scotty's) that would protrude high off the yak. I fish mainly smaller rivers and lakes, so I will never need to read anything very deep. A portable would not work because the transducer would be constantly getting ripped off by rocks and such. Can anyone give me any information
on this product so I will have the confidence to start drilling holes in my yak!! I would appreciate any comments, positive or negative. Thanks.
