Did a gentlemen's launch today. Wow, was it hot. I fixed that, I launched and took a nice splash in the face/body poking through a small wave on my way out.
Great visability today. A lot of bait in the water. Caught and release an assortment of rockfish and sanddabs. Kept one nice Olive Rockfish.
Worked a double dropper loop w/ one shrimp fly and one hook w/ squid strips. I came off the reef and hit a keeper flattie in 50ft.
Today would not have been the day to forget sunblock. I still got plenty of sun even w/ spf50 on. Met a cool kayak angler that goes by "doobie" on the boards.
Anyone ever try to wave or say hello to the anglers on a party boat as they drove by? This happened to me in Cambria with one of the Morro boats that drove by. You say hi and they all stare at you with blank expressions. It's like "cheer up guys". I know you wish you didn't have to pay $50 to fish where I fish for free, but lighten up a little. Let a smile be your umbrella, lol. Thank the ernie m or ernie b, whatever the hell they named their boat for chumming the water and then driving off.
