I have a lead acid rechargeable 12 volt. It's small, doesn't way too much (battery placement is important on certain kayaks, for ex: my Scupper TW is front heavy; I wanted to put the battery inside the kayak as far back as I could, but still not have too much of a problem accessing; it's set inside the hull and just in front of my seat). I enclose it in a Tupperware plastic food container and glued "2 foam rails" down to the kayak to sandwich the battery. On my Scuppers, it sits against the molding of the cup container, in my Pro Explorer it has a 3rd piece of foam to sandwich the back of it. It's a 3 way sandwich...ooooh la la.

: What kind of battery did you get from Radio Shack and how do you like it?
