I have fished a fair amount in that area and it is so so. Great for cruising around but not the best for fishing. There is a major mercury issue in Tomales due to an abandon mine in Walker Creek. If that isnt enough the great whites love the mouth of Tomales Bay for some reason (maybe its the elephant seal rookery around the corner). Cal Academy records form the old research station that used to be at Lawsons has MANY records of great whites. YIKES
You would be better off driving up to Fort Ross. Paddle out to about 45 feet of water near kelp and fish a Fishtrap in color 33 with a 1.5 oz head and you will have a limit of big lings in 20 minutes. Good luck.
