//////I fish shell beach from time to time. There are various rock fish such as gopher cod (which I catch mostly) and the occasional ling. That place surely has halibut but since discovering points further North, I have moved my targeted area. Especially since the fatal White shark attack last year just South of the pier.
12 to 15 test line, plastics fished on 3/4 to 2 oz. heads tipped with squid. Watch your drag and fish one rod. (In your hand, not a rod holder.)
