I put two flushmount rodholders behin the center seat of my MII. They work great for me. I put them far enough back, and angled them backwards a bit, so that they do not interfere with my paddle stroke at all.
The tricky part was figuring out just where to cut the holes so that the rod holders could be fully inserted without the scupper tubes being in the way. I eyeballed it and then drilled a small hole where I thought it would fit, then put a dowel through the small hole to check for clearance. It worked out fine.
They are perfect for trolling, or for deadsticking one rod while casting with another. I also have a swivel mount rodholder on the center of the deck between my feet. That is handy for holding a rod while rigging, etc.
