Launched this am with a new friend Bill to do a quick morning comb of the reefs. Water was pretty mucky. Caught a ton of Olive rockfish, a few blue perch, some small reds, lizard, 5 sanddabs and a nice Lingcod that had me praying for a legal Halibut. It was short a couple of inches from legal, but felt like a nice flattie at the end of my rod. Though it wasn't a big flatty, it was nice to see a Ling.
Finally got to see (meet Mark, and Mike) who the legendary "Big Boy" was. Cool to see marine bio experts engaged in the sport. The more marine experts/knowledgeable anglers the better off we're going to be. People that really know and respect the habitat but also have a passion for fishing. "Clap clap clap", lol.
