Launched w/ Oceanhunter this am just East of Corral Cyn. Surf was up so be careful people. Seems like while we were fishing it mellowed out (towards low tide). But after the tide came in again the surf picked back up. Timing is everything. I didn't get wet nor did I have to surf in on wave to avoid other sets. There are lulls, just take your time before launching and stare at it for a few sets.

SLOW Fishing. Just Smoothhounds. We trolled Rapalas up to Paradise Cove. I drifted back using squid, anchovies, plastics, dodger rigs.....for nothing but Smoothhounds and a couple of baby white sea bass.

Department of Fish and Game was there inspected the "lack of catch" I had. "What, no fish today?" Ya, rub it in. Visability was crap but baitfish(chovies) were busting the surface everywhere. Nothing to get excited about....they were just crashing the muckline eating what looked to be sewage scum. Who knows, maybe it was just some nasty looking algae I'm not familiar with. Though fishing in Malibu I wouldn't be surprised if it was sewage muck. We did just have a storm off the coast for a while churning things up. There are a lot of new rocks on the beach where usually it would only be sand.
