::Btw, they are scupper holes.  The kayak is a very dry ride.  There is only one hold for the seat.  It drains very well and keeps you dry.  I recommend a high back or some sort of pad underneath your kayak seat.  The seat well sinks down a bit (for stability). It may affect a good paddling posture.  If you can just raise up an inch or two, it would correct that.
