: Just moved up to North Carolina from Florida. I don't think there's so called "flats" fishing up here, but I am confident there are reds lurking in some brackish water somewhere! If there's anyone out there that wants to hunt down some reds from a kayak, let me know. We'll do a map recon of the area, interview a few locals, and find those reds!
I live in Northern Virginia and just spent 4 days near Beaufort SC fly fishing for reds. The most successful 4 hours was from a flats boat with Capt. Jack Brown. The Coastal Outdoors site might give you some leads. Otherwise I would try Sarah Gardner and her husband Brian Horsley who run an OBX fly fishing servixce (http://www.outerbanksflyfishing.com/) to get some leads.
There also are a couple of books on fishing the South Alantic Coast that might give you some clues.
Good luck.
