Not exactly kayak related but as a boater you gotta appreciate this.

You may have seen this but it amazed me....don't think I would want to be launching on a day like this. Believe I would have just bailed after the first wave if I was the guy in the front.

Since I eventually will get caught coming in through something like this what are sensible ways to do it? Hang on to a long rope and let the yak go through the surf by itself (just swim in after the yak). Clear the decks, pick you time and go for it?

Or is this the norm for some? Its bigger than anything I have been through so far.
