I'll let ya know what happens and if it is successful.
The instructions I have from Humminbird don't indicate that I need to cut a hole in the hull's bottom - I hope I'm not misunderstanding them. I would definitely be wary of doing that. They seem to say that if you make sure that the epoxy they provide has no bubbles in it when the puck is in place, it should work fine firing right through the epoxy and the plastic of the hull. That's why I am going to try that route, seem like if it doesn't woork, the worst case is that I have a wasted puck stuck to the inside of my kayak. I have all the transom mount parts as well as another puck if it doesn't work - I'm just concerned about knockingthe puck off too often if externally mounted.
