I agree with EE go paddle all the kayaks from the different manufacturers and the new models coming out. The popular manufacturers are cobra, malibu, and ocean. I think wilderness also? someone can verify that. Stay away from the costco specials.
A fishfinder makes a big diffrence to me, see bait, structure, temperature, and depth. It's a big ocean and we have little crafts, I can use the assistance. I have the matrix 25 and so far its been great, i had a piranha 4 that wasn't so great...both hummingbird products though.
I have vast exp. in saltwater fishing, but I would like to try kayak fishing. I am 6' 1" and weigh a "slim" 250. If you could help me out with kayak selection (i.e. width, length, etc...) that would be wonderful. Also, I live in oceanside, ca. and would like to know if anyone would want to buddy up in that area. I catch on extremely quick, so my learning curve on the water will be of minimal time.Do I need a fish finder, or would it be a waste of money compared to a flasher unit. ANY HELP WOULD BE WELCOME.Thank you very much,yt jerry
