I was at Carlsbad infront of the Power Plant on Saturday. The grunion came in big time around 10:30 p.m. I tried hooking some up and throwing out, but never got anything. I tried throwing some Storm swim baits for nada. I was able to scoop up 50 of them to use for bait later on.
Many years ago when I lived up in L.A. we used to go to Cabrillo Beach in San Pedro for the grunion runs. I don't know what time you can stay till now. The run on Saturday was an early one as far as grunion runs go. Usually its a 12:00-2:00 A.M. kind of deal.
