This is somewhat Kayak related, since I went surf fishing cuz I had to remount my transducer and give it time to dry and I have something to do at noon.
But just as an FYI, the Corbina, Yellow Fin Croackers, and Perch are heavy in the South Bay. I went out this moring and walked from Hermosa 25th to 28th Streets just tossing a 3inch Big Hammer grub (motoroil redflake) and caught 3 corbina, 1 yellow, and 4 perch from 6am to 8am, nothing big though. It's neat seeing the corbina ride the waves in and hunt for sand crabs. I'm sure bait users would fair better.
My setup was 15lb mono with a 12lb flouro leader (Should go lighter, but I had nothing ready), a 1 ounce sliding sinker with an orange bead between it and the swivel that my leader is tied to and then just tied a hook and slipped the grub over it.
The evening bite is usually good and it's best to fish the incoming tide.
Greg
