Easy surf launch area for beginner?

Can anybody tell me of an easy surf launch area b/w Malaga Cove, south of Redondo and State Line where I can get into some kelp and structure.

Been fishing Harbors for a month now and want to get out to see some sights and fish in some kelp beds, but have never launched in the surf.

The swell direction is W-NW and 2-3ft, I believe.
