I could not get my six volt to give me more than 10 gallons per hour and it dropped significantly after 3 hours. I am not sure how you are getting such performance with a six volt battery.

Is it the difference between the Rule 360 and the Attwood 500? They both draw 1.4 amps.

Or is it that your pump's outlet is closer to the tank, where my pump is trying to push the water up the hose?

Interesting, that the Rule 360 preforms 30 gallons per hour better on six volts ?

I still like the idea of the 12 volt system with the adjustable attwood sprayhead. I hate having to send those dead drycells to the landfill. Plus $5.00 per trip can add up to a good battery charger and rechargeable 12 volt in 12 trips or less.

The reason why my tank is set up with a dragging bilge pump, is to be completely portable between kayaks. Not all kayaks have scupper hole placements and diameters to work with a one size all set up.

I guess if you really want to control the power draw and flow electronically, the best way to go is to wire in a potentiometer, but then that kind of defeats the idea of a minimalist tank.

I was trying to get away from battery boxes, switches and bread boards and make something a little more straight forward and less susceptible to failure in a salt water environment.
