Live Bait Bucket

I'm new to ocean kayak fishing; just got a Malibu 2 a couple of weeks ago. The M2 has small hatches, too small to place a live bait bucket in there. How do some of you solve this problem?

I was thinking of towing a live bait bucket with small holes drilled in it, but I'm afraid this might attract sharks. Is this fear warranted?
