Went out to Newport Harbor instead of Huntington. Thanks Jerm for the advice! Fished Fish Traps in 3.5" inside the Harbor by the boat docks and was getting short bit all morning, does anybody have this same problem? I didnt' have any grubs with me. Made my way out to the mouth of the Harbor and caught several mackeral. I wanted to troll these outside for something, but was not sure how to rig them. Can anybody tell me how they rig live mackeral for larger species? These were pretty big, 10"-12". Cut up the mackeral instead and fished inside for a short halibut. Nice day on the water none the less.
