: Hey everyone I am still fairly new to kayak fishing and have yet to land a large fish (anything over 5 lbs.)what I was wondering was how soon after you make a big catch such as a yellowtail or WSB do you clean it? How do most of you keep them after you catch them I.E. on a stringer in the water,in a hatch with some ice. Do any of you bleed them out while on the water and clean them to keep them more fresh? Thanks,Jeff
silver space blanket (of the more substantial type) + bubble wrap (3 or 4 layers) + duct tape + storm window plastic sheeting (inner bag) + outer bag (nylon army surlus). just add blue ice. I sandwiched the bubble wrap between the space blanket so it's waterproof. Make inner bag separate so it's washable. The ice is still mostly solid after 8hrs at 74-70 degrees.
