: I think I mentioned to you that I will be going to Crowley for the Double Haul in the Fall Tournament that Malibu Kayaks is Sponsoring and I would like to try your lead core line trick out along with some special Wooly Buggers I have tied up.
>>Fortunately, you won't need to use leadcore at Crowley. Most of the fish we'll get will be in the 10-20' range. I'm not sure what the gear restrictions are for the tourney. It's a fly fishing tourney, and I'm not sure if you could pull a fly with a leadcore setup or not. I'll be up there the proceeding week, and will be using leadcore at lakes like Mary, Silver, Gull and more. I have the leadcore on a 10wt Redington fly reel because of the large diameter spool. The reel is on a 6' saltwater spinning rod because of the large guides. The knot that was recommended to me to use on the leadcore is an improved clinch knot going to a swivel, although maybe theres a better one though. For a leader, about 6' otta do it. See ya up there,
