I think I mentioned to you that I will be going to Crowley for the Double Haul in the Fall Tournament that Malibu Kayaks is Sponsoring and I would like to try your lead core line trick out along with some special Wooly Buggers I have tied up.

Can you please describe to me the rod and reel combo you use for this as well as leader length, and preferred joining knot for Mono to Lead core?

I picked up some Guderbrod 12 lb tonight. It is 100 yards long and the packaging states that at 90 yards (9 colors) I should be approximately only 35 feet deep. In a previous post you stated that you could get 80' deep. Do you use 300 yards to get this deep and to compensate for thermocline? Or are you using additional lead to really get the line down?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
