Steve,
I know circle hooks are better for catch and release fishing, because they do alot less damage to the fish and it is always easier to release a fish that is hooked in the corner of the mouth, as is the case with circle hooks 99 percent of the time. When the fish is on you just steady wind it in. Alot of people like them. I prefer to "swing for the fence" though. It is just too much fun!
