Hi, newbie here. I am starting to outfit my Scupper Pro TW for yak fishing here in SoCal.
I have a Humminbird 400tx with the portable case that houses the battery and a thru-hull transducer that I plan to install inside the kayak body for a clean install rather than try to mount it on the outside and risk knocking it off or damaging it or the kayak. I figure if I am succcessful I can have the battery pack installed safely in the front stoage area and run a new longer power cable and transducer cable up to the base which I would mount on the compass area - thus I would simply have to plug the finder onto the base and be ready to go.
Has anyone here succesfully installed a thru-hull transducer and are they pleased with the results? If so, does anyone have any advice or cautions about the process?
Thanks!
